Cool mountain breezes, sweeping patana grasslands, and rich biodiversity greeted eager explorers as the Science Section of Regency Boarding School embarked on its annual educational excursion to Horton Plains National Park in August 2025. Set against the dramatic backdrop of Sri Lanka's central highlands, the expedition offered students an immersive experience combining scientific fieldwork with the majesty of the natural world.
raversing the scenic trails toward World’s End and Baker’s Falls, participating school students, teachers, and staff members observed unique montane ecosystems firsthand. The journey served as an ideal living laboratory, allowing students to study cloud forest ecology, endemic flora such as the Strobilanthes (Nelu) species, and indigenous fauna, bringing theoretical classroom concepts to life in a breathtaking natural setting.
